Role Overview

The role is to support the Farm Manager in running daily operations across all broiler houses. We require a candidate with a hands‐on approach to livestock welfare and strict biosecurity adherence.

Role Responsibilities
n
n
The role will report to the Broiler and Contract Grower Manager.
n
Assisting with the daily management of the farms.
n
Monitoring bird health, welfare, and performance.
n
Maintaining high standards of biosecurity and animal welfare.
n
Helping to manage farm staff providing guidance and support where needed.
n
Ensuring compliance with health, safety and industry regulations.
n
Monitor bird health, mortality rates and feed/water consumption daily.
n
Manage ventilation, lighting and temperature controls.
n
Enforce strict hygiene protocols to prevent disease outbreaks on site.
n
Co-ordinate, schedule and supervise farm staff.
n
Keep meticulous records.
n
Implementing and maintaining 20 Keys.
n
Able to work irregular hours, including weekends, shifts and public holidays.
n

Required Qualification And Knowledge
n
n
Grade 12
n




Agricultural Diploma or Poultry certificate is highly preferred.
n
2-4 years of broiler production experience.
n
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
n
Focus on people,
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Valid Driving license
n
Able to work under pressure
n
A pro‐active approach to problem solving and operational challenges.
n
Adaptable to changing environments.
n
Must have a passion for people and animals.
n
Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
n
Good Health and sober habits.
n
A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
