Job Description

Due to a recent acquisition there is an urgent requirement for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join the business. You will be required to keep things running smoothly through the transition.

This isn't a "process and forget" payroll role. You'll own superannuation processing, STP lodgement, payroll tax across multiple jurisdictions, and GL reconciliations — while working closely with Finance, P&C;, and external bodies like the ATO.

What you'll be doing:

Processing and reconciling superannuation payments and STP submissions
n
Preparing and lodging payroll tax returns across relevant states
n
Validating payroll GL reports and supporting balance sheet reconciliations
n
Reconciling payroll-to-finance system interfaces
n
Investigating and resolving payroll reporting discrepancies
n
Supporting month-end/year-end payroll accounting and process improvement
n

To be considered for this role you will have:

Robust knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (Super Guarantee, STP, payroll tax)
n
Hands-on experience with SAP HR/Payroll (or similar systems)
n
Solid GL and balance sheet reconciliation experience
n
Advanced Excel skills and a genuinely analytical mindset
n
Comfort interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
n
A relevant payroll or accounting qualification
n
