HOBAN Recruitment | Forklift Operators | $*****/hr | Temporary Contract | Melbourne About the Opportunity HOBAN Recruitment is currently seeking experienced and reliable Forklift Operators to join our team for a major sporting event in Melbourne CBD from October **** to March ****.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale event, supporting the movement of equipment, materials and event infrastructure throughout the build, site readiness, bump-in, live operations and bump-out phases.
n
You will work closely with onsite coordinators, contractors, labourers and other event personnel to ensure materials and equipment are moved safely and efficiently across the event site.
n
About the Role
n
As a Forklift Operator, your responsibilities may include:
n
n
Operating a forklift safely and efficiently across the event site
n
Loading, unloading and relocating equipment and materials
n
Moving pallets, event infrastructure, equipment and other materials
n
Supporting event bump-in and site setup
n
Assisting with the delivery and positioning of materials across designated work areas
n
Supporting contractors, labourers and onsite teams with material movements
n
Assisting with site preparation and pack-down
n
Supporting bump-out and dismantling activities
n
Conducting required pre-start and safety checks
n
Following site traffic management and safety procedures
n
Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
n
Reporting any equipment, safety or operational issues to supervisors
n
Following instructions from onsite coordinators and project management
n




Working effectively as part of a large event operations team
n
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
A current and valid forklift licence
n
Demonstrated experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, construction, logistics, events or similar environment
n
Experience operating safely around pedestrians and other site personnel
n
Solid awareness of workplace health and safety requirements
n
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
n
A reliable and punctual work ethic
n
The ability to work effectively within a large team
n
Physical fitness and the ability to assist with general site duties when required
n
Flexibility to work across different stages of the event
n
Previous major event or large-scale site experience is highly desirable
n
n
Project Timeline
n
This is a large-scale event project with opportunities available across multiple stages:
n
n
Mid-October **** – December ****: Event setup, site preparation and bump-in
n
January ****: Live event operations, supporting the event throughout the event period
n
February **** – End of March ****: Bump-out, pack-down and site reinstatement
n
n




Successful applicants may have the opportunity to work across one or multiple stages of the project, depending on operational requirements, availability and experience.
n
Please note that shift requirements may vary across each stage of the project, with increased workforce requirements expected during key setup and bump-out periods.
