About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of large format industrial packaging solutions, supporting critical industries across Australia and internationally.
n
With safety, operational excellence and sustainability at the heart of its operations, the business is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to provide strategic and hands-on leadership across multiple manufacturing sites.
n
Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in driving HSE strategy, strengthening safety culture and ensuring compliance across the business.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead and implement the HSE strategy across the business
n
Drive a proactive safety culture through leadership coaching and engagement
n
Identify, assess and manage operational and critical risks
n
Focus on key areas including machinery safety, LOTO, traffic management, chemicals and working at heights
n
Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental legislation
n
Lead audits, inspections, assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives
n
Manage and investigate high-risk and notifiable incidents
n
Develop and improve HSE systems, procedures, training and reporting
n
Provide coaching and capability development to site leaders and HSE teams
n
Partner with senior leadership to deliver measurable HSE improvements
n




Act as a key interface with relevant regulatory authorities
n

About You
n
You will be an experienced HSE professional with a strong background in manufacturing, industrial or similarly complex operational environments.
n
You will bring:
n
n
Extensive knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental legislation
n
Proven experience in a senior HSE leadership role
n
Strong leadership, coaching and change-management skills
n
Experience with HSE management systems, including ISO ***** / ISO *****
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
A practical, hands-on approach to safety leadership
n
The ability to influence operational leaders and drive cultural change
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline
n
Postgraduate HSE or Risk Management qualifications desirable
n
AIHS or relevant professional membership advantageous
n
n
