Dixie and Thyme Counselling is a small mental health practice based in Tamworth.
We focus on providing accessible, client-centered support to individuals aged ***** years, couples, and families in the local community.

About the role
The Mental Health Clinician (social worker, psychologist, or counsellor) will provide direct, face-to-face and telehealth counselling and therapeutic support to clients ages ***** years old, couples and families.
Key responsibilities
Conduct psychosocial and clinical assessments which will include an array of psychometric tools
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans
Deliver evidence-based interventions in line with best practice standards and Medicare's Focused Psychological Strategies
Maintain accurate,



timely documentation and clinical notes
Coordinate care with other health and community providers
Participate in case reviews and supervision
Contribute to risk assessment and safety planning
Engage in ongoing professional development
About you
Demonstrated knowledge and practice in a range of mental health settings with a focus on the wellbeing of young people aged ***** years, couples and families
Experience applying evidence-based therapeutic approaches that align with Medicare's list of focused psychological strategies such as: CBT, ACT, DBT, and EMDR.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related mental health discipline, with eligibility for professional registration or membership (e.g., AASW, APS, PACFA, ACA or equivalent)
Proven ability to build rapport with diverse clients, maintain professional boundaries, and manage sensitive or high-risk situations appropriately
Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills, including competence in electronic record systems
Commitment to ethical practice, cultural safety, as well as neuro-affirming and trauma-informed care, including working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and diverse communities
Willingness to participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing career development
Current working with children check, national police check, NDIS check, and current first aid certificate.
