We are currently seeking an experienced CIAM Tech Lead for an 18-month contract with a Federal Government organisation.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to a strong software engineer who has extensive experience delivering Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions. You’ll be responsible for leading technical implementation, solving complex engineering problems, maintaining high-quality code and providing technical guidance to other engineers.

As the CIAM Tech Lead, you will:
Lead the implementation and delivery of complex CIAM solutions
Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable and maintainable code
Solve complex technical and implementation challenges
Design solutions for advanced CIAM requirements
Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Contribute to estimation, technical refinement and delivery planning
Mentor and support less experienced engineers
Work with technical stakeholders and other teams to integrate CIAM solutions with existing systems




Explore emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality

Essential experience includes:
Advanced unit and integration testing experience, including frameworks such as Jest
Extensive experience implementing complex CIAM solutions
Solid knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
Experience customising and integrating CIAM platforms such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping or similar
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similar
Proven experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a cooperative engineering workplace
Experience configuring and customising SaaS‑based CIAM services
Experience building and integrating microservices in cloud environments , such as AWS, Azure or GCP
