The role:
n
This is a substantive role covering a broad mix of corporate finance, property and construction finance, asset finance, fund work, receivables financing, and PPSA advisory work. You will handle both domestic and cross-border matters, advising financial institutions and corporate borrowers on complex transactions with real commercial weight.
n
Expect exposure to a diverse range of responsibilities, including seeing you:
n
n
Draft, review, and negotiate transactional finance documents across a range of deal structures;
n
Advise financial institutions and corporate borrowers on complex financing arrangements;
n
Handle PPSA registrations, searches, and advisory matters;
n
Collaborate with Insolvency, Property, and Corporate teams on integrated transactions;
n
Manage cross-border and domestic finance matters from instruction through to settlement;
n
Support senior practitioners on high-value,



time-sensitive transactions; and
n
Provide pragmatic, commercially grounded advice to clients
n
n
You'll gain hands-on experience working alongside a senior partner with over 35 years' experience leading intricate finance and commercial matters—someone known for their deep technical expertise, practical advice, and mentoring approach.

**Open to practitioners admitted in any Australian state or Recent Zealand (willing to be located in Melbourne).**

About you:
n
You're a Lawyer (1–3 years' PQE) with solid grounding in banking & finance, or commercial law.
n
You're commercially astute, solution-oriented, and comfortable managing your own matters while collaborating with others. You value precision, client trust, and meaningful professional growth & development.
