Intermediate Business Services Accountant

Key responsibilities

n

n
Complete BAS and other relevant compliance work
n
Prepare complete and accurate working papers
n
Ensure all work complies with current Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards
n
Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
n
Preparation and review of management reports as required
n
Implementing Xero and Payroll set up for new clients
n
Liaising directly with clients, the ATO and other external parties
n
Assisting with client queries and identifying issues that require further advice
n
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records
n
Managing your own workflow and meeting lodgement and client deadlines
n

About you

n

n
2+ years' experience in Australian accounting/public practice
n
A degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
n
Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for a range of entities
n
A good understanding of Australian taxation, compliance requirements and current legislation
n
Experience with accounting and tax software such as Xero and MYOB
n
Solid attention to detail and time-management skills
n




Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
n
Ability to independently prepare tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts and sole traders
n
Study support towards CA/CPA qualification
n
Exposure to a variety of industries and clients
n
Mentorship and on-the-job training from an experienced accountant
n
