Job Description

BASQ Essendon Fields is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie with strong hot-section skills to join our kitchen team.

n

We are looking for someone who is confident during busy service, organised on their section and capable across a range of hot-section duties.

n

You should be comfortable with pan work, sauces, proteins and general hot-section cookery, with good timing and the ability to maintain quality during busy service.

n

Grill experience is highly regarded, and we are happy to consider robust hot-section chefs who are keen to develop further in this area.

You should be comfortable with:

n

n
Running a busy hot section
n
Exposure to grill work and cooking proteins accurately
n
Pan work, sauces and general hot-section cookery
n
Managing multiple orders during service
n
Maintaining strong mise en place
n
Working cleanly and efficiently under pressure
n
Consistent presentation and portioning
n
Monitoring stock and prep levels
n
Supporting other kitchen sections when required
n
Working closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team
n

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong section chef
n
Solid hot-section experience
n
Valuable grill knowledge
n
Confidence working in a busy restaurant setting
n
Strong organisation and service timing
n
Valuable attention to presentation and consistency
n
Understanding of portion control, food cost and wastage
n
Reliability and punctuality
n
Robust teamwork and communication
n
Weekend availability
n
