Job Description
This is a hands-on position suited to a capable Chef who is comfortable working independently when required and as part of an established kitchen team. You will work alongside our Head Chef and become a key member of our kitchen team at the Golden Nugget Restaurant, a unique tourism and hospitality destination in the historic goldfields town of Maldon, Victoria.

Key responsibilities
n
Preparation and service of high-quality restaurant meals
n
Working across grill, pans, fryer and general kitchen sections
n
Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation
n
Assisting with functions, events and group catering
n
Food preparation and mise en place
n
Stock rotation, portion control and minimising wastage
n
Maintaining excellent food-safety and kitchen-hygiene standards
n
Assisting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
n
Taking responsibility for kitchen service when required
n
Supporting and working effectively with other kitchen and restaurant staff
n
About you
n
At least 3–5 years' commercial kitchen experience
n
Strong restaurant, hotel, pub, resort or function experience
n




Confidence working in a busy service environment
n
Good knowledge of food safety and commercial kitchen procedures
n
Strong organisational and time-management skills
n
A reliable and professional approach to work
n
The ability to work as part of a small, close-knit team
n
Suitably qualified international chefs are encouraged to apply.
