Site Supervisor – Sports Field / Civil Construction

Victorian Sports Group specialises in the construction and maintenance of natural grass and synthetic sporting surfaces. Based in Doreen, our team delivers sports facilities for local councils, schools, and sporting clubs across Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead the delivery of sports field and civil construction projects across multiple sites. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant, and materials to deliver works to specification, program, and quality standards.

Our scope extends beyond field construction. We specialise in the construction and maintenance of natural and synthetic sporting surfaces and the delivery of associated high-performance sports infrastructure, including stormwater drainage systems, carpark construction, and sports lighting towers. This role oversees full-field builds and integrated civil packages, ensuring technically compliant, durable, and competition-ready outcomes across every element of the project.

Key Responsibilities
n
Supervise day-to-day site operations across sports field and civil construction projects
n
Monitor and enforce compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality requirements
n
Coordinate plant, labour, subcontractors, and materials to meet construction programs
n
Read and interpret plans, set-out information, and engineering documentation
n
Oversee bulk earthworks, subgrade preparation, drainage installation, trimming, and final surface preparation
n
Ensure finished surface tolerances meet project specifications
n
Liaise with Project Managers, clients, councils,



and consultants as required
n
Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily pre-start meetings
n
Complete site documentation including diaries, SWMS, ITPs, and delivery dockets
n
Identify and proactively manage risks, delays, and site constraints
n
Maintain high standards of workmanship and presentation across all sites
n
Skills & Experience
n
Construction Induction Card (White Card)
n
Working With Children Check (WWC)
n
Current manual driver's licence (Heavy vehicle licence advantageous)
n
Minimum 10 years' experience in civil or sports field construction
n
Proven experience supervising crews on bulk earthworks and detailed finishing works
n
Solid practical experience in concrete works
n
Strong understanding of levels, laser equipment, and finished surface tolerances
n
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
n
Knowledge of turf advantageous
n
Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing site sequencing
n
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and site compliance requirements
n
Clear and confident communication skills
n
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
n
Flexible availability including early starts or extended hours when required
