Kerr Engineering is a well-established and rapidly growing Western Australian fabrication and general engineering company seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to join our team.
n

Based in Henderson within the Australian Marine Complex, we've built a solid reputation for efficiency, reliability, quality and workmanship. Our busy workshops handle structural steelwork, platework, equipment fabrication, machining and repair servicing.
n
nAbout the Role n
n
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day welding operations across the workshop, ensuring all work is completed safely, to specification, and to the highest quality standard.
n
nKey Responsibilities n
n
n
n
Supervise day-to-day welding operations to ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
n
n
Ensure correct welding parameters, techniques, and sequences are followed
n
n
Ensure proper use of preheat, inter-pass temperature control, and heat input
n
n
Verify that only qualified welders are assigned to welding tasks
n
n
Monitor welder performance and identify poor performance trends
n
n




Control the issue and distribution of welding consumables
n
n
n

Proven experience in a supervisory role within
fabrication/engineering
n
n
Solid welding experience with sound knowledge of welding standards
n
n
Strong communication skills
n
n
A self-motivated, can-do attitude
n
n
Ability to work autonomously
n
n
Current WorkSafe-approved forklift licence
n
n
High level of commitment and reliability
n
n
Commitment to general upkeep of machinery and workshop
n
n
n
n
The following qualifications would be highly desirable: AS **** Cert 10, AS **** Cert 10, or IWS (International Welding Specialist).
