We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant role with a growing property development firm in north-west Sydney. This is a contract role for three days per week, with the prospect to become a permanent member of the team in the future.

The scope of the role is broad and requires involvement across day-to-day accounting, month-end, reporting, payroll, reconciliations, and tax compliance for the operating business and the projects. As part of a small team, you will work closely with the Founder and development team, providing accurate and timely financial information while supporting the ongoing improvement of finance processes and systems.

Key responsibilities
Managing day-to-day accounting functions
Preparing month-end reconciliations, reporting and financial information
Preparing and posting General Ledger journals
Managing banking and monthly bank reconciliations




Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs for Projects
Processing payroll and reconciling payroll journals
Assisting with Accounts Payable and payment processes
Assisting with sales commission calculations
Supporting tax and audit requirements
Supporting statutory financial statements and audit schedules

About you
4+ years' experience in an all-round Financial Accounting role
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting - essential
Robust experience using Xero
Solid understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting
Experience with GST and Australian tax compliance
Positive understanding of intercompany accounting and financial processes
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
