Job description As the company continues to undertake construction projects, we are seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work across construction sites and contribute to the preparation, installation, and dismantling of formwork required for concrete and structural works.
We are currently seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis in Canberra, ACT. Work locations may vary depending on project requirements, and the role may involve working across different construction sites as directed by the employer. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Building, fitting, and removing formwork for concrete slabs, walls, columns, footings, and beams
Reviewing and following building plans, technical drawings, specifications, and site instructions
Measuring, marking out, positioning, levelling, and securing formwork accurately on site
Cutting, preparing,



and assembling timber and other materials required for formwork
Adjusting and checking formwork to ensure accurate dimensions, levels, alignment, and stability
Operating carpentry hand tools, power tools, and relevant construction equipment safely
Checking formwork before concrete placement and assisting with the preparation and handling of site materials and equipment
Liaising with supervisors, builders, concreters, engineers, and other trades to coordinate daily construction activities
Keeping work areas clean and orderly while complying with WHS requirements, safety procedures, and relevant construction standards
Carrying out general formwork and carpentry tasks as required by the site supervisor
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Formwork Carpenter or in a similar construction role
Certificate III in Carpentry or a related trade (preferred but not essential)
Sound knowledge of timber, conventional, or modular formwork systems
Ability to read and follow construction drawings and instructions
Competency in the use of carpentry tools and construction equipment
Valid White Card (mandatory)
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-focused attitude
