We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our growing allied health team supporting participants under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services within the community to individuals with a range of physical, psychosocial, intellectual, neurological, and developmental disabilities.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide clinical leadership, mentorship to junior clinicians, complex case management, functional assessments, and evidence-based interventions that empower participants to achieve their goals and improve independence and quality of life.

About the Role

This role involves delivering high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services within the community to individuals with a range of physical, psychosocial, intellectual, neurological, and developmental disabilities.

The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide clinical leadership, mentorship to junior clinicians, complex case management, functional assessments, and evidence-based interventions that empower participants to achieve their goals and improve independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions in participants' homes, and community settings.
n




Conduct functional capacity assessments, assistive technology assessments, home modification assessments, and sensory assessments.
n
Develop person-centred therapy plans aligned with participant goals and NDIS funding.
n
Prepare high-quality clinical documentation, progress reports, and NDIS reports to support funding applications and plan reviews.
n
Prescribe assistive technology and equipment in accordance with best practice and funding guidelines.
n
Support participants to build independence in activities of daily living, community access, emotional regulation, and participation.
n
Collaborate with families, support coordinators, carers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
n
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with NDIS and organisational standards.
n

Leadership & Senior Duties
n
n
Provide supervision, mentoring, and clinical support to junior occupational therapists and allied health assistants.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, service development, and quality assurance activities.
n
Support the Clinical Team Leader with complex case reviews and clinical governance.
n
Promote evidence-based practice and uphold professional standards across the team.
n

Compliance & Qualified Practice
n
n
Maintain compliance with AHPRA, NDIS Practice Standards, and organisational policies.
n




Participate in professional development and clinical supervision.
n
Maintain participant confidentiality and uphold ethical practice standards.
n
Ensure all services are delivered in a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based manner.
n
n
Essential Criteria
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
n
Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA.
n
Minimum 5+ years' experience as an Occupational Therapist, including experience within disability and/or community settings.
n
Strong knowledge of the NDIS, disability supports, and funding frameworks.
n
Experience completing:n
n
Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
n
Assistive Technology (AT) assessments
n
Home modification recommendations
n
NDIS progress and review reports
n
n
Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads independently.
n
Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
n
Current Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
n
Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
