My client is a cloud-based CA practice with 3 Directors and 20 staff. The firm's key service offering is their virtual CFO services. In addition they also provide tax and annual compliance, strategic advice and R&D; consulting.

They aim to use technology to deliver smarter, simpler, and more efficient accounting solutions. A positive portion of the firm's clientele are start-ups and tech industry clients, along with a whole host of other industries catered for as well. Clients can range from businesses that are pre-revenues up to approx. $30 million in annual turnover. The team here in Australia is supported by offshore counterparts in the Philippines.

They are now seeking an experienced Intermediate to Senior level Accountant to join their team. This role will work closely with the Directors to manage VCFO services and a smaller component of tax compliance, for a select portfolio of clients. You will also work collaboratively with junior team members both onshore and offshore.

This is a client-facing role, so it would suit someone who enjoys engaging with clients and developing relationships.

Key duties will include:
n
Outsourced CFO duties including: Budgeting and forecasting, Month-end Accounting, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting, Monthly Consolidated reporting
n
Assist the tax team to prepare and review: Year-end Financials & Tax Returns, Quarterly and Monthly Activity Statements, Payroll Tax, FBT
n
System and efficiency development for clients
n
Managing client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction
n
Identifying opportunities for value-added services and provide proactive recommendations to clients
n
Supervising and mentoring junior accountants, providing guidance and support on technical accounting matters
n
Utilise app advisory platforms such as Fathom, Spotlight Reporting & Visible to improve existing reporting for clients and stakeholders
n
The ideal candidate will possess:
n
A relevant tertiary level qualification
n
CA/CPA qualification - be enrolled, working towards, or have completed
n
A minimum of 3 years experience in business services and/or management accounting
n
Strong experience with relevant accounting systems including Xero & XPM
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
Experience dealing with reporting tools such as Spotlight Reporting & Visible and exposure to the start-up industry/start-up clients would be highly advantageous, but not essential
