Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Teacher in Health & Physical Education at our Penquite Campus located in Launceston. This is a permanent position of up to FTE 1.00. It offers an exciting prospect to contribute to the vibrant community within the Health & Physical Education department. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing and delivering engaging Health & Physical Education lessons that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of students.
Implementing innovative teaching strategies to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.
Providing guidance and support to students, fostering their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Collaborating with colleagues to design and implement co-curricular programs that promote active lifestyles and overall wellness.




Participating in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of current trends and best practices in Health & Physical Education.
Contributing to the broader life of Scotch Oakburn College through involvement in extracurricular activities and school events.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is committed to inspiring students to embrace healthy living through education. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a genuine passion for teaching, and a collaborative approach to working within a supportive team environment. A relevant teaching qualification along with experience in Health & Physical Education is essential.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualified teacher status with relevant degree in Health & Physical Education
Registration with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board or the ability to attain registration
Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging Health & Physical Education curriculum
Ability to plan and execute effective lesson plans for diverse learning styles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for student engagement and parent interaction
Strong understanding of health and wellbeing principles applicable to school-aged children
Capability to integrate technology into teaching practices
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with educational best practices
Experience in coaching or leading sports activities is desirable
