Are you passionate about working with young people and making a positive difference in a school community? Bundamba State Secondary College is looking for a School Support Officer (Identified) to join our team and play an important role in supporting student engagement, attendance, behaviour and connection to school.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who is confident, approachable and able to build strong, respectful relationships with students. You will work closely with Heads of Year, teachers and school support staff to encourage students to make positive choices, remain engaged in their learning and successfully participate in school programs.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part‐Time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.
This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About The Role
As the School Support Officer (Identified),



your responsibilities include but not limited to:
Monitoring student attendance, uniform and engagement before and after school and during recess periods.
Supporting students to attend class and remain engaged in their learning.
Patrolling school grounds and nearby areas and providing support where required.
Working alongside Heads of Year and teachers to implement programs that support improved student outcomes.
Observing and providing feedback on student progress and the effectiveness of support programs.
Referring students to appropriate school support services when additional assistance is required.
Building positive, professional relationships with students through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Participating in professional development and contributing to continuous improvement.
