We are seeking an experienced Head/Senior Manager - Investment Operations to play a key leadership role within the investment operations function of a growing financial services organisation.

Lead, develop and support a team of investment operations professionals.

Manage day-to-day priorities and ensure responsibilities are clearly understood across the team.

Provide coaching, technical guidance and ongoing development.

Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational matters.
n

Investment Operations
n
n
Oversee the day-to-day operational processes supporting the organisation's investment activities.
n
Ensure investment transactions, cash movements, reconciliations and other operational activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
n
Maintain appropriate oversight of investment and portfolio data.
n
Work closely with investment teams to investigate and resolve operational issues.
n
Ensure operational processes continue to meet the requirements of the investment function.
n

Operational Controls & Governance
n
n
Maintain a strong control environment across investment operations.
n
Identify operational risks and ensure appropriate controls and procedures are maintained.
n
Support audit, regulatory and governance requirements.
n
Maintain policies, procedures and operational documentation.
n
Ensure operational incidents and exceptions are appropriately investigated, escalated and resolved.
n

External Service Providers
n
n
Manage day-to-day relationships with custodians, administrators and other external service providers.
n




Monitor service delivery and performance against agreed expectations.
n
Coordinate the resolution of operational issues with external partners.
n
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
n
n
Profile
n
Candidates will typically have 10+ years of experience within investment management or financial services, with demonstrated leadership experience across investment operations or a related function.
n
Experience within an asset manager, superannuation fund, private markets manager, wealth manager or other institutional investment environment would be highly regarded.
n
A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.

You will ideally bring:
n
n
Significant experience across investment operations, middle office, investment administration or fund operations.
n
Strong understanding of investment markets and the operational investment lifecycle.
n
Experience leading and developing teams.
n
Exposure to multiple asset classes would be advantageous.
n
Experience managing custodians, administrators or other investment service providers.
n
Robust understanding of operational risk, controls and governance.
n
Experience improving systems, processes and operating models.
n
Ability to work closely with investment professionals and senior executives.
n
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
n
Commercial mindset with an understanding of how operations can support business growth.
