We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) Solution Architect to lead the design and technical delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade eCommerce platforms. This role owns end-to-end solution architecture — from discovery and technical design through to delivery governance — across complex, multi-system commerce ecosystems.
The ideal candidate brings deep SFCC architecture expertise, a strong point of view on emerging Agentic Commerce patterns (AI-driven, autonomous shopping experiences and agent-based commerce workflows), and exposure to Adobe Commerce/Experience Cloud or Sitecore platforms to support composable, best-of-breed architecture decisions.
This role is based in Melbourne or Sydney, working on high-impact digital commerce transformation programs across diverse industries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own end-to-end solution architecture for Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware) implementations, including SFRA-based and composable/headless architectures.
Lead technical design workshops with clients/stakeholders, translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable architecture blueprints.
Define integration architecture across the broader commerce ecosystem — OMS, ERP, PIM, CDP, Payment Gateways — via SCAPI/OCAPI and REST/SOAP APIs.
Architect the integration of Agentic Commerce capabilities into commerce platforms — AI shopping agents, conversational commerce, autonomous checkout flows, and LLM-driven commerce experiences — including evaluating where and how these patterns fit into the broader solution.
Provide architectural guidance on composable/MACH commerce strategies,



including when to leverage Adobe Commerce/AEM or Sitecore alongside or instead of SFCC.
Make and document build-vs-buy and platform selection recommendations, balancing technical fit, scalability, cost, and long-term roadmap.
Establish and enforce coding standards, architecture governance, and technical best practices across delivery teams.
Identify technical risks early and define mitigation strategies across the project lifecycle.
Mentor and provide technical leadership to developers and consultants; review architecture and code at key milestones.
Act as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders, presenting architecture decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Stay ahead of emerging commerce and AI trends, particularly agentic commerce, and advise clients/stakeholders on adoption strategy.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
7-10+ years of experience in eCommerce technology, with 5+ years specifically architecting on Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware).
Proven track record leading full lifecycle SFCC implementations, from discovery through go-live and hypercare.
Strong hands-on knowledge of OCAPI/SCAPI, REST/SOAP integration patterns, and enterprise system integration (OMS, ERP, PIM, CDP, Payments).
Solid stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills, with experience presenting architecture to senior/executive audiences.
Experience with practices at an architectural governance level.
Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams and drive architectural best practices across delivery.
