About the Role
n
Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, you will be a key member of the Financial Accounting team. This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility across month-end reporting, reconciliations, process improvement, and finance automation initiatives.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
n
Complete high-volume branch bank reconciliations across a national network.
n
Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close activities.
n
Maintain the accuracy, integrity and completeness of the general ledger.
n
Investigate financial variances, resolve issues and provide clear commentary where required.
n
Assist with monthly management reporting, financial analysis and ad hoc reporting requirements.
n
Prepare, maintain and review balance-sheet reconciliations.
n
Monitor outstanding reconciling items and ensure these are cleared in a timely manner.
n
Support fixed-asset accounting,



including depreciation and asset-register processes.
n
Maintain strong financial controls, compliance standards and documentation.
n
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate, complete and reliable.
n
Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes and reduce reliance on spreadsheets or repetitive tasks.
n
Contribute to finance transformation and continuous-improvement initiatives.
n
Improve reporting efficiency, workflow quality and data accuracy across the finance function.
n

Skills and experience
n
n
CA or CPA qualifications or working towards.
n
At least four years' experience in an Accountant or similar financial-accounting role.
n
Experience in a multi-site environment and high transactional environment.
n
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
n
Experience using ERP systems in a commercially focused environment, SAP Highly regarded.
n
Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial-control capability.
n
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
