Working closely with our Directors, Project Managers and subcontractors, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders across a range of commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Review and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
n
Prepare detailed and accurate construction estimates, take-offs and tender submissions.
n
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
n
Prepare scopes of works and trade packages for pricing.
n
Identify project costs, risks, exclusions and potential variations.
n
Compare and analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing.
n
Develop detailed bills of quantities and cost estimates.
n
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients as required.
n
Conduct site visits and pre-tender inspections where required.
n
Assist with value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
n
Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and submitted within required timeframes.
n
Maintain pricing databases and
supplier/subcontractor
relationships.
n
Assist the project team with budgets, procurement and cost planning when required.
n




Keep up to date with current construction costs, materials, labour rates and market conditions.
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of the construction industry.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Previous experience as an Estimator within the commercial or industrial construction sector.
n
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and building practices.
n
Ability to confidently read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
n
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
n
Excellent attention to detail.
n
Ability to accurately manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
n
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
n
Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
n
Experience with
estimating/tendering
software is highly desirable.
n
A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
A strong understanding of Australian construction practices and standards.
n
A current driver's licence.
n
