Experienced Climbing Arborist – Future Team Leader

Mr Lumberjack is looking for an experienced Climbing Arborist to join Tom and our established Gisborne crew.

First and foremost, we're looking for a bloody good climber — someone experienced, reliable, safe and capable of getting stuck into the work from day one.

But we're particularly interested in finding someone who wants somewhere to go with their career.

You might love climbing now, but you probably don't want to be doing it forever.

The opportunity

You'll initially join us as a climbing arborist, working as part of an established crew across Gisborne, the Macedon Ranges and surrounding areas. Over time, if you've got the ability and ambition, we'd like to teach you more of the business — quoting jobs, dealing with clients, managing work, leading people and understanding the numbers behind a successful tree crew.

For the right person, there is a genuine pathway towards eventually running your own Mr Lumberjack team and participating in our profit-share model.





You don't need to be ready to run a team tomorrow.

What we're looking for
An experienced and capable climbing arborist
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
Secure and professional approach to tree work
Someone who communicates well with clients and teammates
Someone we can rely on
Ideally, someone interested in taking on more responsibility as their career develops

What we're offering
$39–$45 per hour + super, depending on experience and ability
Full time employment and regular work
An established crew and equipment
The opportunity to develop beyond climbing
Training in quoting, client management and leadership as you're ready for it
A genuine pathway to running a team and earning wages + profit share
