The Opportunity
Start your career with MidCoast Council through a 24-month traineeship in Water Management and Treatment. You'll gain practical experience, complete a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and help deliver reliable water and wastewater services to our community.
What You'll Learn:
How to operate and maintain water and wastewater systems.
Practical skills in water treatment and system operations.
How to carry out planned and unplanned maintenance.
How to work safely, efficiently and as part of a team.
How to support reliable services for the local community.
By the end of your Traineeship, you'll have a nationally recognised Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and valuable hands-on experience in a specialised, high-demand field.
We're Looking for Someone Who:




Is eager to learn about water treatment and wastewater operations.
Works safely and efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.
Shows reliability, commitment and a positive attitude through study, work or other experiences.
Can work safely, communicate well and contribute as part of a team.
Holds a P1 driver's licence or is working towards obtaining one.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you'll be required to complete a pre-employment basic skills assessment and medical check (medical assessment will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component).

What we offer?
Salary:
The salary for this traineeship ranges from approximately $32,500 to $55,300 in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. Your salary will be determined based on your age, qualifications, and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional.
An allowance of $****** per week will also apply (Trainee Water Allowance).
Location:
Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Dawson Water Services Treatment Plant, Brimbin. You will also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure:
Full-time 38 hours per week over a 24-month period.
