About the role
As a Department Manager, you will report directly to the Store Manager and be responsible for overseeing the efficient day to day operation of the Deli & Bakery Department at our Windmill Hill Store in Tamworth NSW.
Key responsibilities
Manage team members to ensure the delivery of a high level of customer service and department presentation
Generate enthusiasm within the team by mentoring and sharing knowledge
Manage and ensure that all WHS and Food Safety standards are maintained
Monitor and manage quality, wastage and shrinkage in a compliant and proactive manner
Permanent full time position
Competitive salary (based on above award hourly rate plus penalty rates)
+ 12% superannuation

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years' experience as deli manager (or similar) in a supermarket environment
Working knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
Knowledge of scales, weights measures and tares to accurately weigh products
Experience with managing supplier relationships
Proficiency with inventory management systems
Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve goals
Experience in sustainably managing rosters and wages
Proactive, hands‐on approach with a robust work ethic
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends
Ability to lift medium to heavy weights for period of time
Police Clearance, current within 3 months (or willingness to obtain)
Full Australian Working Rights
Desirable: Food Safety Certificate
