Job Description
You'll work directly with First Nations students across ***** Sydney and regional NSW schools, delivering cultural mentoring and support that builds real, lasting relationships. Your days will look different depending on where you are: running yarning circles with small groups of students, sitting with young people one-on-one, facilitating cultural activities and reflective sessions, leading or supporting cultural events like NRW & NAIDOC Week ceremonies, keynote addresses, and dance or cultural performances. You'll help schools deliver on the recent NSW **** curriculum requirements for First Nations content, while Bandu's leadership team delivers cultural safety training to school staff.

During school holidays (around 14 weeks per year), you'll support Bandu's broader mission: post-school planning with participants, community and corporate events, participant check-ins, and other program work. You'll report to the Director.

What You'll Do

Deliver cultural mentoring sessions in schools using Bandu's structured engagement framework
n
Build trusted relationships with First Nations students across multiple schools
n
Facilitate yarning circles, cultural activities and reflective sessions
n
Support and lead cultural events - Welcome to Country, keynote addresses, dance and cultural performance
n
Support schools with First Nations curriculum delivery (K-12)
n
Attend staff cultural safety training sessions as part of your professional development
n
Provide light-touch reporting - term summaries and engagement observations
n
During school holidays, support Bandu's broader programs including post-school planning, community events and participant check-ins
