The Role
n
Based at our Clarence Campus, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor or Building Designer to step into a teaching and mentoring role, helping shape the future of Tasmania's built environment.
n The Teacher/Associate Teacher – Built Environment will play a key role in delivering the Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying or the Certificate IV in Residential Drafting, high-quality training to students looking to become the next generation of certified professionals in the construction industry.
n
On any given day, your responsibilities will include:
n

Teaching and inspiring students in the field of Building Surveying and Residential Drafting
n
Supporting learners both on campus and online
n
Developing and coordinating teaching and assessment materials aligned with industry standards
n
Providing expert advice and guidance to students, employers, and stakeholders
n
n
What Will You Bring
n
n
To be eligible for this role, you must meet at least one of the nationally mandated assessor requirements:
n
Be licensed as a Building Surveyor Level 1 or Level 2 (or equivalent) in your state or territory, or
n
Demonstrate current membership of a relevant industry association and be currently registered on the National Building Professionals Register in the Building Industry Control category (Level 1), or
n




Be accredited under the AIBS National Accreditation Scheme as a Building Surveyor, or be accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) as a building certifier
n

You'll also need:
n
n
Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying (minimum) OR
n
n
Certificate IV in Residential Drafting (minimum), with Diploma or higher-level Building Design or Architecture qualifications highly desirable
n
n
An enthusiasm for mentoring the next generation of professionals
n
Strong communication and organisational skills
n
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE*****) or a willingness to work toward it (TasTAFE can support you in obtaining this)
n
n
A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required, or the ability to obtain prior to commencement.
