Occupational Therapist | Mental Health & Community
If you're an Occupational Therapist who actually enjoys working with people and wants more freedom in the way you practise, this could be a role worth looking at.
We're looking for an OT who is passionate about mental health, wellbeing and helping people build more independent, meaningful lives.
This isn't about sitting behind a desk ticking boxes all day. You'll have the flexibility to work in a way that makes sense for your clients and for you, with a mix of
work from home, telehealth, community visits, client homes, supported accommodation and clinic-based appointments.
The Role
You'll work with
children, adolescents and/or adults
across a range of mental health, psychosocial, neurological, developmental and physical presentations.
You'll get to know your clients properly, understand what they're trying to achieve and work alongside them to find practical ways forward.
Your work could include:
Functional and occupational assessments
Individualised treatment and intervention plans
Supporting emotional and sensory regulation
Building independence with everyday activities
Executive functioning and social participation
Functional capacity assessments
Assistive technology recommendations
Environmental modifications
Working alongside families, carers and other professionals
Clinical documentation and report writing
The big thing is that
you'll have a genuine say in how you manage your caseload and your day.
You'll have autonomy without being left on your own,
with regular supervision, clinical support and a team around you when you need it.
What We're Looking For
We're after someone who is clinically capable, but just as importantly, someone who is
genuine, empathetic and easy to work with.
You'll need:
Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
A relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
Robust clinical reasoning and assessment skills
Good report-writing and communication skills
The ability to manage your own caseload
A person-centred, strengths-based approach
A genuine interest in mental health and psychosocial support
Experience across
mental health, community, disability or NDIS
will be highly regarded.
What's In It For You?
$110,000 + Super
Flexibility
Work from home, in the community, via telehealth or in the clinic. Your week can actually have some variety.
Autonomy
You're trusted to do your job. No unnecessary micromanagement or someone constantly looking over your shoulder.
Meaningful Work
You'll work closely with people and see the real-world impact of the work you're doing.
Support
Regular supervision, professional development, reflective practice and a team that actually communicates.
A Better Way of Working
The goal is to build a career that works alongside your life, not one that takes over it.
Interested?
If you're an OT who wants to do meaningful work, have more control over your week and be part of a genuinely people-focused team,
we'd love to hear from you.
