Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for leading and optimising the traditional nut roasting process within our production environment. Key duties include:
New site installations, including:
Unpacking, documenting, reconciling equipment supplied for new IMOA site installations
Installation and Commissioning of new site installations
Reporting and Documentation




Accurate and timely completion of site service reports, downtime reports PPM activity, stock reports, timesheets for job allocation
Supporting the Regional Manager in updating engineering manuals as necessary.
Maintain the equipment in as-new condition and working order, working in a small team seeking to continuously improve wash quality and innovate the engineering programmed for sites (including software updates).
Estimating the materials, cleaning products, water quantities, equipment, and machinery required to establish and operate an efficient, fully equipped car wash facility.
Service and Maintenance, including:
Ensure the conveyors are available a minimum of 99.5% of the time the business is open
Assisting Senior Engineer in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
Ensure that Operators are trained to manage the majority of simple maintenance activity and break-down, but understand their boundaries.
Provide second-level phone support to Operators and build a trusted relationship
Complete Preventative Planned Maintenance ('PPM') work on a timely basis.
Refurbishment of replaced parts as required
Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements, this information to be communicated to the Managing Director for approval




Performing and directing field and laboratory tests, namely chemical dilution and effectiveness
Maintain an accurate work-in-progress sheet for open issues and resolve on a timely basis, managing expectations of operators, co-ordinating with and training third party contractors, suppliers and service providers as required.
Undertaking such other duties as maybe assigned to by the Managing Director from time to time.
Experience
Minimum 3 professional experience in a Field Service Technician occupation or an occupation highly related to Field Service Technician
Proven capability in leading technical operations within a food manufacturing environment
Skills
Deep technical knowledge of machinery
High mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose equipment performance issues
Strong ability to analyse data
Ability to coach and train operational staff in addition to supervising their maintenance of machinery
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Adaptable, proactive, and able to perform under tight deadlines

IMO Car Wash is headquartered in Artarmon, New South Wales and runs a network of attended, conveyor-based automatic car washes across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.
The company's services include a hand pre-wash, wheel cleaning, automated tunnel wash and optional add-ons such as wax, foam and detailing.
