6-Month Parental Leave Contract | Part-Time / School Hours Considered
Are you an organised and capable accounts and administration professional looking for a role with genuine flexibility?
Mother Duck Childcare & Kindergarten Lawnton is seeking an Accounts & Administration Assistant to join our team for a six-month parental leave contract.
We are open to discussing working arrangements that suit the right person, including part-time hours or school hours.
About the role
This is a hands‐on accounts and administration position supporting the smooth financial administration of our Lawnton service.
Your responsibilities will include:
accounts payable and accounts receivable
administration of family accounts and payments
processing payroll and maintaining payroll records
reviewing and approving employee timesheets
bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
uploading and allocating receipts and transactions in Xero
assisting with Child Care Subsidy (CCS) administration
assisting with Queensland Kindergarten Funding administration
following up account discrepancies and declined payments
completing regular weekly, fortnightly and end-of-month administration tasks.
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, systematic and comfortable working with financial information and regular deadlines.
You will ideally bring:
previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or financial administration role
confidence using Xero or similar accounting software
experience with payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable
strong attention to detail and accuracy
valuable organisational and time-management skills
confidence communicating professionally with families and colleagues
the ability to identify discrepancies, follow matters through and know when to seek assistance.
current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
Experience within early childhood education and care,



Child Care Subsidy administration or childcare management systems would be advantageous, but is not essential for an experienced accounts and administration professional who is willing to learn.
