Qualified Teacher – Year 11 & Year 9 English, Mathematics & VCE Subjects

We are seeking an exceptional, fully qualified teacher to provide ongoing academic tutoring for two students — one entering Year 11 and one entering Year 9 in ****. Immediate start.
n
This is a role for a teacher who is outstanding at teaching, not simply someone who is knowledgeable in the subject.
n
We are prepared to pay up to $150 per hour for face-to-face tutoring for the right person. The priority is finding a teacher with exceptional teaching ability who can genuinely engage students, identify gaps in understanding and bring out their academic potential.

We are looking for someone who can become a trusted, long-term academic mentor to both students.
n
Year 11 student
n
Tutoring is required in:
n
n
VCE Mathematical Methods
n
VCE Business Management
n
Economics
n
n
The successful teacher/s will ideally have substantial experience teaching senior secondary students and a strong understanding of the Victorian VCE curriculum.
n
Responsibilities will include:
n

Teaching concepts clearly and thoroughly
n
Identifying and addressing gaps in knowledge
n
Developing strong analytical, problem-solving and written skills
n
Preparing for SACs, examinations and assessments
n
Providing constructive and specific feedback
n
Building confidence while maintaining high academic expectations
n
Developing an individual learning strategy based on the student's strengths and areas for improvement
n
Helping the student become more independent and effective in their study
n
n
Year 9 student
n
Tutoring is required in:
n
n
Mathematics
n
n
The focus will be on strengthening core skills,



developing confidence and ensuring a strong academic foundation for senior secondary studies.

The person we are looking for
n
You must be a qualified teacher.
n
We are particularly interested in teachers who:
n
n
Hold appropriate teaching qualifications
n
Have substantial secondary teaching experience
n
Have strong experience teaching VCE Mathematical Methods, English or Business Management (noting we may have multiple teachers to fill the position/s)
n
Have an excellent understanding of the Victorian curriculum and VCE requirements
n
Are exceptional communicators and explain difficult concepts in a way students genuinely understand
n
Can adapt their teaching style to the individual student
n
Are engaging, patient and encouraging while maintaining high standards
n
Can challenge capable students and push them beyond their comfort zone
n
Are highly organised and proactive
n
Take genuine ownership of student progress
n
n
Most importantly, we are looking for an exceptional teacher — someone who knows how to teach, not simply someone who knows the content.
n
Location & commitment
n
Glen Iris: At least one face-to-face session per week
n
Additional tutoring can be conducted online if preferred
n
We are looking for an ongoing relationship rather than short-term exam preparation
n
Sessions can potentially be arranged around the teacher's existing commitments
n
Remuneration
n
Up to $150 per hour for face-to-face tutoring, depending on qualifications, experience and demonstrated teaching ability.
n
We are willing to pay a premium for the right teacher. Quality of teaching is considerably more key to us than finding the lowest hourly rate.
n
