Senior Environmental Specialist - Contaminated Sites & Remediation
Join a team driving the safe and sustainable rehabilitation of major energy infrastructure assets on a 5 month assignment.
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to support contaminated sites management, remediation programs, and waste management initiatives. This role will provide technical expertise across 3 sites to ensure environmental compliance, support site rehabilitation projects, and contribute to long-term sustainability outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of contaminated sites assessment and remediation programs.
Ensure compliance with the Contaminated Sites Act **** and relevant environmental legislation.
Provide specialist advice on contaminated land, waste management, environmental risks, and remediation strategies.
Contribute to the implementation of a 5-year contaminated sites management plan and long-term waste management strategy.
Develop and review environmental management plans, risk assessments, tenders, and contractor documentation.
Monitor environmental performance through audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Engage with regulators, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to achieve project and environmental objectives.
Support incident reporting,



environmental investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
5+ years' experience in contaminated sites investigations, remediation, or environmental management.
Solid knowledge of WA environmental legislation, contaminated sites requirements, and waste management practices.
Experience in environmental risk assessment, contractor management, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication, technical report writing, and problem‐solving skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Experience
Contract management and procurement.
Water quality monitoring.
Closure planning and site rehabilitation.
Environmental approvals and regulatory engagement.
Experience within energy, industrial, infrastructure, mining, or major project environments.
