Domestic Assistance Support Worker - Ongoing Friday Shift
About the role n
The successful support worker will assist the client to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home workplace while promoting independence, dignity and choice.
n
The role is focused primarily on domestic assistance and household support.
Key duties may include n
n
General household cleaning
n
Vacuuming and mopping floors
n
Dusting and wiping surfaces
n
Cleaning bathrooms and toilets
n
Washing dishes and general kitchen tidying
n
Laundry assistance
n
Folding and putting away clothes
n
Light household organisation and tidying
n
Emptying household rubbish
n
Cleaning commonly used areas of the home
n
Completing agreed domestic tasks in accordance with the client's care plan
n
Identifying and reporting any safety concerns or changes observed during the visit
n
Completing required progress notes after each service
n

Comfortable working independently in a client's home

Able to follow care plans and instructions
n
Able to communicate professionally with clients, families and the care team
n
Physically capable of completing routine domestic assistance tasks
n
Committed to maintaining client privacy, dignity and confidentiality
n
Preferred experience n
Previous experience in any of the following areas would be highly regarded:

Aged care
n
Disability support
n
Community care
n
Domestic assistance
n
Professional cleaning
n
Requirements n
Applicants should have, or be willing to obtain where required:
n
n
National Police Check
n
Current First Aid and CPR
n
Reliable transport to and from the client's home
n
Appropriate insurance and documentation where applicable
n
Understanding of infection control, manual handling and workplace safety
n
Ability to complete electronic progress notes
n
