Network Engineer – JP**** – L3
n
Position Description
n
The Network Engineer JP**** L3 provides specialist communications and network engineering services in support of the design, integration, verification and delivery of EDHFCS networking capabilities.
n
The role focuses on voice, video and data communications, including their convergence across secure Defence networks, and supports LAN, WAN and other network environments within the capability baseline.
n
The position works under the direction of the Deputy Engineering Manager JP**** and contributes to technical delivery, assurance and contractor oversight in accordance with Defence standards and IC3SPO engineering processes.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Perform network engineering activities across voice, video and data systems, including converged communications environments.
n
Provide specialist advice on data communications, telecommunications and network engineering within the EDHFCS context.
n
Support development and integration of secure, resilient Defence network architectures, including LAN and WAN.
n




Contribute to capability and concept development for communications network elements of EDHFCS.
n
Conduct requirements analysis, development and allocation.
n
Ensure network requirements are traceable to system-level capability needs and operational use cases.
n
Support network architecture and design.
n
Review design documentation and specialist network engineering reports.
n
Develop and review engineering artefacts.
n
Ensure documentation meets Defence, contractual and IC3SPO quality requirements.
n
Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
n
Assist with technical risks, issues and network performance concerns.
n
Support cybersecurity and network hardening considerations.
n
Review contractor deliverables.
n
Engage Defence stakeholders, industry partners and other engineering disciplines.
n
Participate in engineering reviews, design reviews and technical working groups.
n
All other tasks as directed.

Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Chartered Skilled Engineer or ability to attain chartered status.
n
Tertiary qualifications in Network Engineering,
Telecommunications,
Computer Science or related discipline.
n
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Leadership and management experience.
n
ASDEFCON Suite experience.
