JCI Engineering is seeking experienced shutdown trades for interstate work. We run mechanical shutdown and project work across the mining, resources and energy sectors, with jobs coming up in NT, WA, NSW and SA. We have a particular volume of work across NSW, so preference will be given to NSW-based candidates. All our work is either a FIFO or a DIDO offering. We engage both casual PAYG and ABN contractors, so we're building our labour pool and need trades and assistants who are experienced, motivated and proficient in their role of choice.
Roles we're filling:
Mechanical Fitters / Machinists
Boilermakers and coded welder's
Riggers (intermediate or greater)
Trade Assistants
What you'll be doing
Planned mechanical maintenance and repair during scheduled shutdowns
Operating and maintaining tools and equipment relevant to shutdown work
Working alongside other trades and engineering teams to hit shutdown timelines safely
Inspecting plant and equipment and reporting defects and maintenance needs
Following all site safety, HSE and permit requirements
Documenting work completed and reporting progress and issues
Troubleshooting equipment faults and carrying out corrective work
Preparing work areas and managing tools and equipment
What we're looking for
All roles:
Minimum 12 months mining experience (Mandatory)




Working at Heights refresher completed within the last 2 years
Confined Space refresher completed within the last 2 years
Valid White Card
For trade roles: a trade certificate backed by an apprenticeship, or relevant and consistent hands‐on exposure
Willingness to travel to site and work diverse hours, including shift work during shutdowns
ABN contractors: engagement subject to an insurance review
Riggers also need:
Minimum 2 years rigging experience
Current rigging High Risk Work Licence
