The
Senior Facilities Manager
is responsible for overseeing the management, operation and maintenance of Council's building facilities, ensuring they remain safe, functional, compliant and fit for purpose.
About the Role
Working closely with the Coordinator, Facilities Management, internal teams, contractors and other stakeholders, the role will contribute to strategic facilities planning while ensuring the effective delivery of day-to-day facilities operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Management
– Coordinate planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, including contractors and vendors.
Facilities Operations
– Manage building systems, including access control, BMS, lighting controls and CCTV.
Planning & Strategy
– Support facilities management strategies aligned with organisational and community needs.
Inspections
– Assess asset condition, maintenance and safety issues, and service levels.
Reporting
– Report on maintenance, performance, compliance and facility outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement
– Build relationships with staff, contractors, tenants and community stakeholders.
Compliance
– Ensure compliance with legislation, codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
Budget & Resources
– Support budgets, monitor expenditure and manage resources for value for money.
Emergency Preparedness
– Support emergency planning, drills and occupant safety initiatives.
Sustainability
– Promote energy efficiency, waste reduction and environmental initiatives.
General
– Undertake other facilities management duties as required.
About the Person
To be successful in this position, ideally you will have:
Relevant Diploma in facilities management, engineering,



building services, or a related field
Substantial experience in facilities management, maintenance coordination or a related role.
Sound knowledge of the BCA, Australian Standards, relevant regulations and facilities management best practice. Knowledge of sustainable practices is desirable.
Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, projects and deadlines.
Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build effective relationships.
Proficiency in facilities management, data analysis and reporting software.
Current Class C Driver Licence.
Current Construction Induction (White) Card.
