The Cook is responsible for delivering high-quality meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements. Working Part-Time, reporting to the Chef, the role involves preparing nutritious and delicious meals while maintaining compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including main dishes, soups, sandwiches, salads, and AM/PM teas, in line with the menu.
n
Apply basic cooking methods such as baking, frying and steaming.
n
Prepare and serve nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
n
Engage with residents to understand and cater to their individual dietary preferences and requirements.
n
Manage special diets,



including texture-modified meals, following best-practice standards.
n
Participate in menu planning to ensure meals align with the Australian dietary guidelines for older adults.
n
Ensure strict compliance with HACCP food safety standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
n
Collaborate effectively with the catering team to deliver safe, consistent and high-quality food services.
n
Maintain a clean and hygienic work area at all times.
n
Monitor and manage food costs to ensure operations remain within budget.
n

What You'll Bring
n
n
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable but not essential).
n
Minimum years experience in a hospitality Cook background
n
Ability to work collaboratively with the team and engage positively with residents.
n
NDIS Workers Check, or willing to obtain - Mandatory
n
Compassion and Empathy.
n
Hospitality experience in an Aged Care setting or fast-paced environment.
n
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
n
An understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential)
