Our client, a dynamic venture capital firm based in Sydney's CBD, is looking for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage fund accounting operations, reporting, and compliance for their investment funds.
What You'll Do
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for venture capital funds
Prepare and reconcile fund financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements
Prepare comprehensive investor packs and general fund reporting
Calculate and process fund distributions to investors
Handle fund subscriptions and investor accounting
Assist with financial statement preparation and year-end processes
Support external audits and liaise with auditors and fund administrators
Maintain fund accounting policies and procedures
Oversee general ledger management, account reconciliations, and fund-level reporting
Assist with compliance and regulatory reporting obligations
What We're Looking For
1–4 years of fund accounting or fund operations experience in private markets
Background in venture capital, private equity,



hedge funds, or managed funds
Experience with investor reporting, distribution calculations, and financial statement preparation
Experience with fund administration platforms and systems
CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) – ideal but not essential
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Solid understanding of IFRS and Australian tax
Skills & Attributes:
Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
Self-motivated and proactive in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic and collaborative mindset
