Part time Retail Customer Service Officer

Tamborine Post Office is a single-terminal community post office looking for a reliable part-timer to join the small team. You'll be the only person on site for most of your shifts, working independently while serving the local community.

Key responsibilities
n
Sorting and preparing incoming and outgoing mail
n
Serving customers at the counter — postage, parcels, mail lodgements, bill payments and banking
n
Processing identity services, including passport applications and interviews
n
Handling and processing cash, EFTPOS and card transactions accurately
n
Assisting with retail sales, stock, merchandising and stocktakes
n
Opening and closing the store, including cash handling and end-of-day balancing
n
Keeping the shop clean, organised and welcoming
n
About you
n
Available at least one full weekday, 8am-6pm
n
Available to cover additional shifts when needed, including sick leave and annual leave cover
n




Confident working solo and running the shop independently
n
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
n
Comfortable using computers and handling transactions
n
Physically able to lift mail and parcels (up to 16kg) and stand for your shift
n
Own transport, or living locally in the Tamborine area
n
Previous retail, customer service or cash handling experience is an advantage, but not required
n
Consistent part time hours (approx. ***** per week), plus extra hours when covering leave
n
Full on-the-job training in all Australia Post systems and services
n
Friendly, low-pressure local workplace where you'll get to know your customers by name
n
Payment will be in accordance with the Retail Award
n
No commute into Brisbane — ideal if you live locally in Tamborine, Wonglepong, Canungra, Logan Village or Mundoolun
