We're looking for a
Senior Cloud Security Engineer
to join an established cyber security team and help build, automate and mature its security capability.
This is roughly
50% hands-on Security Engineering and 50% cyber uplift
. You'll work across SIEM/XDR, detection, cloud security and incident response, while using
Python, DevOps practices and automation
to make security processes more scalable and effective.
There's also a strong focus on exploring how
AI can be practically applied across security operations and engineering
.
What you'll do
Engineer and continuously improve
SIEM, XDR and security monitoring capabilities
Build, test and tune high-quality security detections
Support complex incident response, investigations and threat hunting
Improve security visibility and telemetry across
AWS and Azure
Develop
Python tooling and automation
to eliminate repetitive security processes
Apply
detection-as-code
, Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices to security engineering
Work across vulnerability management, remediation and wider security uplift initiatives
Identify opportunities to use
AI and automation
to improve security operations
Partner with cloud, infrastructure and engineering teams to improve security controls and visibility
Help mature security processes rather than simply maintaining existing tooling
What you'll bring
Strong experience across
Security Engineering, Detection Engineering or senior Security Operations
Hands-on experience with
SIEM and XDR technologies
Strong understanding of detection engineering, security monitoring and incident response
Python scripting and automation




experience
Experience securing
AWS and/or Azure
environments
Understanding of CI/CD, Git and contemporary
DevOps/DevSecOps practices
Experience with threat hunting, MITRE ATT&CK; and attacker behaviours
An engineering mindset with the ability to identify problems and build scalable solutions
Experience with SOAR, security data pipelines or automated remediation would be highly regarded
Exposure to
AI within cyber security or automation
would be advantageous
