About the Role
As a Freight Operator (Shunter), you will be expected to be available to complete the following Key responsibilities Safely, Competently and as an engaged employee:
Maintenance and Servicing
Provisioning and House Keeping
Performing shunting and yard duties (including cleaning)
Examining and certifying trains for departure readiness
Conducting brake tests
Safely unloading customer products
Communicating effectively with depot personnel (face-to-face and via two-way radio)

The successful candidate will have consistently demonstrated proactive behaviour and embodied Aurizon's core values and will play a key role in morale-building and promoting a positive team culture
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Shunt Qualification (mandatory).
A current C Class Manual Driver's Licence
Flexibility to work a 24/7 roster with shifts up to 12 hours
Robust commitment to safety, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service focus
