Chef Manager
to lead the kitchen at
Uniting – Kari Court in St Ives
. This is an opportunity for a chef who enjoys taking ownership, leading from the front and delivering food that makes a genuine difference to the people we serve.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As Chef Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring every meal is prepared safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
Your role will include:
Leading and coordinating day-to-day kitchen operations
Preparing fresh, nutritious meals through efficient bulk cooking
Creating
texture-modified meals
and catering to individual dietary requirements
Coordinating tray service and meal distribution
Building positive relationships with residents, staff and the wider team
Maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
Managing food preparation and kitchen workflow
Delivering warm, professional customer service
Working confidently and independently
What You'll Bring
You are an experienced chef who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of food in an aged care setting.
You'll ideally bring:




A recognised
Trade Chef qualification
Current
Food Safety Supervisor certification
Previous experience in aged care, healthcare, hospitality or high-volume catering
Strong bulk-cooking experience
Knowledge and experience preparing texture-modified foods
A thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene
Strong organisational and communication skills
A professional, reliable and hands-on approach
The ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen
