Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective recovery of patients who have undergone surgical procedures. This role requires a caring and highly skilled nurse who can provide specialized care in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace. You will collaborate closely with the surgical team, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible post-operative outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery
Administer medications and treatments as required to manage post-operative pain and ensure patient comfort
Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in patient's condition




Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized post-operative care plans
Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Participate in continuous education and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in post-anesthesia care
Qualifications:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting
Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
