Swinburne Student Association is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gym Manager to oversee the operations of our on-campus fitness hub, 'Flex by SSA' -

This role, based at the Hawthorn campus, will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our fitness hub and providing an exceptional experience for student members.
n
Our new operating model is tailored to when Swinburne students use the gym.
n
The role is offered on a casual basis with shifts from 10am to 7pm on Mondays to Fridays. We're also open to a permanent part-time option (please indicate your interest in the cover letter)
n
What you'll be doing
n
Conduct health and fitness assessments and support Swinburne students (and alumni members)
n
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming training environment by completing daily cleaning checklists.
n
Support day-to-day operations, including administration and customer service.
n
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
n
Liaising with the wider Swinburne Student Association team to plan and deliver engaging fitness events and initiatives
n
What we're looking for
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
Certificate III & IV in Fitness or equivalent qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Sport Science, Exercise Science,



or Clinical Practice highly regarded).
n
Current registration with a recognised fitness body (e.g. AUSactive, ESSA, FitRec, orASCA)
n
Proven experience in a gym management or gym setting environment
n
Robust customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
n
Sound knowledge of the fitness industry and trends, as well as relevant health and safety regulations
n
A passion for health, wellbeing, and supporting the student community.
