Clear Thinking Mental Health Group is seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MHNP) or candidate to join our two established private mental health practices in Ballarat.
n
This is an opportunity for an experienced clinician who enjoys working therapeutically with adults and or adolescents and is looking for a supportive, collaborative private practice workplace and a long-term
employment/contractor

About the role
n
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment to adults presenting with a broad range of psychological and psychiatric conditions.
n
The role has a strong emphasis on high-quality counselling and therapeutic intervention, alongside comprehensive mental health assessment, clinical formulation and medication management.
n
n
Providing high-quality counselling and psychological therapeutic interventions within your scope of practice
n
Supporting adults experiencing a range of psychological and psychiatric conditions
n
Prescribing and reviewing medication within your scope of practice and relevant prescribing authority
n
Monitoring treatment response, medication efficacy and potential adverse effects
n
Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families where appropriate
n
Liaising with GPs, psychologists, psychiatrists and other health professionals as required
n
Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation and meeting all professional and regulatory requirements
n
Working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary team
n
Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and clinical risk assessments
n
Developing collaborative treatment and management plans with clients
n

About you
n
We are looking for an experienced MHNP who has:
n
n
Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA
n




Appropriate mental health nursing and nurse practitioner qualifications
n
Experience working with adults across a range of mental health presentations
n
Strong clinical assessment, formulation and risk-assessment skills
n
Excellent counselling and therapeutic communication skills
n
Confidence working autonomously and making sound clinical decisions
n
Appropriate prescribing experience and demonstrated understanding of medication management - support will be available
n
A warm, person-centred and recovery-focused approach
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
A commitment to evidence-based, ethical and high-quality mental health care
n
