About The Role
n
We are seeking an experienced and high-performing Assistant Coach – Defence to join our NRL Football Department. Reporting directly to the Head Coach, this role will play a critical part in designing, implementing and continuously improving our defensive systems and strategies as we pursue excellence at the elite level.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Designing and refining defensive systems, structures and game strategies.
n
Planning and delivering high-quality defensive training sessions and drills.
n
Contributing to preseason and in-season planning to optimise team performance.
n
Monitoring player development and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
n
Supporting game day operations from the coaches' box through live analysis and tactical adjustments.
n
Conducting detailed opposition and post-match video analysis.
n
Contributing to player selection discussions and end-of-season reviews.
n
Working collaboratively with coaching, high performance and wellbeing staff to achieve football objectives.
n
Representing the club professionally with media, sponsors,



fans and key stakeholders.
n

About You
n
We are looking for an accomplished rugby league professional who combines technical expertise with outstanding leadership and communication skills.
n
To Be Successful, You Will Bring
n
n
NRL High Performance Coach accreditation.
n
Significant experience in elite rugby league as either a player or coach.
n
Extensive coaching experience across NRL and high-performance environments.
n
Demonstrated success supporting game strategy development, season planning and performance improvement.
n
Expertise in performance analysis, game review processes and the effective use of technology and data.
n
Strong understanding of contemporary high-performance sporting systems.
n
Exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.
n
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-driven workplace.
n
Deep knowledge of rugby league and the factors required to achieve sustained success at the elite level.
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
Legal entitlement to work in Australia.
n
Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
n
Valid Australian Passport.
n
Ability to work outside standard business hours, including travel and match-day commitments.
n
Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain one).
n
