A well-established financial services business in Sydney is looking to add an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to their team. About the role
n
You'll take day-to-day responsibility for the accurate and timely delivery of fund accounting services across an allocated portfolio, acting as a technical point of reference for junior team members and a trusted point of contact for clients and other stakeholders. This is a hands-on role with genuine scope to grow into a team leadership position over time.

Key responsibilities
n
Fund accounting and reporting
n
n
Prepare and review NAV calculations, unit pricing and fund accounting records
n
Manage the preparation and review of client and investor reporting packs
n
Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting processes
n
Assist with the preparation of annual and half-year financial statements
n
Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors as required
n
n
Reconciliations and controls
n
n
Oversee cash, investment and unit register reconciliations for allocated funds
n
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, escalating where appropriate
n
Ensure internal policies,



procedures and checklists are consistently followed
n
n
Client and stakeholder management
n
n
Act as a key point of contact for client queries relating to your portfolio
n
Build strong working relationships with registrars, custodians and internal teams
n
Communicate proactively to avoid surprises and keep stakeholders informed
n
n
Team support and development
n
n
Review the work of junior fund accountants and provide constructive feedback
n
Support the onboarding and training of new team members
n
Share technical knowledge and act as a mentor within the team
n
n
Fund onboarding and technical knowledge
n
n
Assist with the onboarding of new funds, including reviewing key fund documents
n
Maintain a strong understanding of fund structures and reporting timetables
n
Stay across relevant regulatory and tax compliance requirements
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Tertiary qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
n
CA/CPA qualified, or well progressed towards qualification
n
5+ years' experience in fund accounting or financial services
n
Robust technical knowledge of NAV calculations, unit pricing and fund reporting
n
A keen eye for detail and solid understanding of risk and compliance concepts
n
Confidence reviewing the work of others and providing clear, constructive feedback
n
Strong verbal and written communication skills
