The school is seeking an experienced English teacher and leader to take responsibility for the direction and development of its English Faculty from Term 1, ****.

About the Role
n
This is a full-time, permanent ongoing Head of Faculty – English position combining classroom teaching with faculty leadership.
n
The successful candidate will lead curriculum planning, teaching practice and assessment across English, while supporting and developing teachers within the faculty.
n
The position currently attracts a $4,798 p.a. Position of Responsibility allowance and 8 periods of leadership release per cycle, with both arrangements due to be reassessed for ****.
n
Key Responsibilities
n

Provide leadership and direction across the English Faculty.
n
Lead curriculum planning, assessment and the continued development of English teaching and learning.
n
Support, mentor and develop teachers within the faculty.
n
Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing faculty culture.
n




Maintain a classroom teaching load alongside leadership responsibilities.
n
Promote strong student outcomes, engagement and inclusive classroom practice.
n
Contribute actively to the wider life and values of the school.
n
Be comfortable leading devotions and prayer with staff and students.
n

About You
n
To be considered, you will ideally have:
n
n
Current VIT registration or eligible for it.
n
Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with English as a teaching area.
n
Strong secondary English curriculum knowledge and classroom experience.
n
Previous faculty leadership, curriculum coordination or demonstrated leadership capability.
n
Full Australian working rights.
n
A cooperative leadership style with the ability to develop and support other teachers.
n
The ability to positively support the values and ethos of the school.
n
