An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced
Assistant Operations Manager
to join the management team of a vibrant and well-established shopping centre near Ryde.
Working closely with the Operations Manager and Centre Manager, you will help drive the day-to-day operational performance of the asset, ensuring it remains safe, compliant and exceptionally presented for tenants, customers and visitors.
The Role Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the daily operations of the centre, including maintenance, cleaning, security, waste management and essential building services
Conducting regular inspections to maintain high presentation, safety and operational standards
Coordinating contractors and suppliers while monitoring KPIs, service levels and compliance
Assisting with tenders, contract renewals and contractor performance reviews
Ensuring compliance with WHS, fire safety, environmental and statutory requirements
Supporting incident response, risk assessments and emergency management procedures
Assisting with sustainability initiatives and monitoring energy, water and waste performance
Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
Responding promptly to maintenance requests and operational concerns
Maintaining accurate compliance documentation, records and operational logs
Assisting with operational reports, budgets and management updates
Building strong relationships with tenants, contractors and key stakeholders

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Three to five years of experience in facilities or operations management
Previous experience within a retail or shopping centre workplace
Sound knowledge of HVAC, fire, electrical, plumbing and other building systems
A strong understanding of WHS and statutory compliance requirements
Experience managing contractors, suppliers and multiple stakeholders
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
The ability to confidently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
Experience using CMMS or property management systems
Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management, Building Services or a related discipline will be highly regarded
