GRC Industries is a specialist industrial laser restoration company working across the lift, infrastructure and commercial sectors.
We are looking for a practical, mechanically minded person to join us as a
Laser Restoration Technician
. Previous laser experience is
not required
— we will provide structured training in industrial laser operation, surface restoration and our specialised work methods.
This is a hands‐on field role across Sydney and occasionally regional NSW. You'll work on lift equipment, structural steel and other industrial assets, restoring surfaces affected by corrosion, coatings and contamination using advanced laser technology and conventional restoration methods.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to develop into a highly capable field technician who can eventually take ownership of projects and run jobs independently.
What you'll be doing
Operating industrial laser restoration equipment following training and competency assessment
Laser cleaning and restoration of steel, lift components, guide rails, brackets and associated equipment
Removing corrosion, coatings, oxidation and surface contamination
Preparing surfaces for protective coatings and painting
Applying rust treatments, primers and protective coatings where required
Setting up laser exclusion zones, screens, extraction and site protection
Working within lift shafts, lift pits, motor rooms and commercial/industrial environments
Completing pre-starts, SWMS requirements, photographs and electronic job records
Maintaining laser equipment, tools, PPE and field equipment
Liaising professionally with lift technicians, site supervisors and client representatives




Assisting with other specialist restoration and maintenance works as your skills develop

Willing to undertake occasional night work and regional travel
Able to adapt — our projects are varied and rarely repetitive
White Card
Good spoken and written English
Ability to travel to different sites across Sydney
Highly regarded but not essential
Experience in any of the following would be helpful:
Mechanical or industrial maintenance
Fitting or mechanical trades assistance
Industrial painting or coatings
Corrosion treatment
Remediation or restoration
Construction
Working at Heights
EWP
RIW or other major‐site contractor systems
None of these are mandatory.
